“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

Saturday

Happy Saturday!
Well,
I hope you're having a happy Saturday:)

Yesterday, the gas company stopped by to let us know
we needed to evacuate because of a leak
they turned off our gas
pretended to work for an hour
then left and didn't return.
We're back in our house
 but
we don't have hot water
and the stove doesn't work.
they're closed today...
and tomorrow...
and Monday.

Well, I can't use the stove
but tomorrow is September!!!
So I'm not going to let it get to me.

I love the way the sky looks this time of year don't you?
It takes on a deeper hue, the clouds get brighter and fluffier.
You know you're one day closer to
weather that's fit for humans.(and Halloween!)
& If you're lucky enough to get some rain, it's quite a show.

We had a bit in the last week or so

I've mentioned how inspired I get when it rains right?
Apparently so does Helena.
we made some tissue paper lanterns last night.
All you need is decoupage glue, tissue paper, and a jar.

.
I love these pickles!!
I have so many empty jars!

paint the jar with the glue
apply the tissue paper
add another coat of glue on top.
 Let it dry.

add a tea light and turn off the lights....

 easy peasy!

I also made a new mixed media painting.

it's called
'Time for a Cupcake Party'

Again, I hope your day is happy
 but if it's not....
I hope you can
find a way to get it there
even if it's just stopping what you're doing
and looking up at the sky:)

  1. I sure hope Paul feels better soon and that you have a good holiday weekend. I love looking up at the sky...it's always different. We usually go outside and watch the sunset in the evenings. Love your idea for the jar...very fun idea! Sweet hugs!

  4. Hello, Lovey Marfi,

I feel like a schlameel after reading your post...here I was complaining over at mine...OY, girl, you had plenty to complain about, but you didn't allow the day's circumstances get you down. I need to take a lesson from you, my young friend.

Yes, our desert skies are amazing...as is our rain...thanks for reminding me. Have a great weekend, in spite of no hot water nor gas. Love those lanterns and your little painting is adorable...love it!! Take care.
