“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

cryptozoology

I was outside late one night and saw a large shadow slinking around on the roof of our house, inky black against the dark of the sky.I walked over to the edge of the back porch, held the camera up over my head and took a random picture of the roof corner.I'd used the flash so all i saw were glowing eyes.I was a bit excited, maybe it was something else, something strange, since I have a great affinity for all things creepy and spooky,I thought maybe its a giant winged bat!?(or something)Mothman??The Jersey devil(in Tucson??) the shadow was very large!!!
well it was just the cat that adopted us,she's had a bit too much tuna lately.but i think the picture came out alright.

Museum

We went to the Wildlife Museum a while back and we found some cool insects,I dont like bugs, but the colors on some of them were breathtaking, here's a few.The butterflies of course, are beautiful, and the only bug I can stand to look at is a glittery one.

Fairy

Hi,It's really warm today,Spring is truly here,so I just wanted to show a Spring fairy doll I made.
I used a pre-made doll form and made the dress by gluing scraps of fabric, tulle and assorted flora to her. I found the wings in the seasonal department of a drugstore. Her purse is a Christmas ornament that I wrote BLISS on with fabric paint.

4/14/32 - 4/11/98

On April 11 1998 at about 12 p.m.
,my mother Mercy had a massive heart attack and passed away.It was the day before Easter, and I was getting ready for work.
She knew she was going to die, all that week she spoke of nothing else but refused the doctor's visit.
That morning I woke up and couldn't really shake the nightmare I'd just had...
I'd been walking on a university campus and the wind was roaring and coming from every direction,
 debris was flying around.
The most noticeable were light blue tissues, Kleenex, being pushed along..
I was in awe of just how many there were. There was a feeling of intense fear.
I continued walking along and saw that I was approaching a fence or wall, don't know which, I just know it was very tall.
At the base of the wall, all the tissues were piling up on a form, at first I thought it was a person,
then I noticed it was a figure made of wood, heavy and still.
I woke up and didn't understand the fear I'd had of something so simple.
I finished getting ready for work, went into my mother's room quietly, since she was still sleeping,
and got a bottle of hairspray, I went to close the door and I stopped, and looked at her.....I called out to her softly and she didn't wake up so I said it again, louder and I rattled the doorknob.....
The chaos that followed will never be forgotten.
My daughter was 7 years old at the time, my niece, 6
 my nephew, 18 months.
The wind that started up that day when the ambulance got here was unbelievable, like the four corners were opened up and poured over us, it came from every direction.
I remembered my dream the day of the viewing, I walked over to see this figure, heavy and still.
She loved flowers and could plant one seed and make a hedge of them,
she could sing beautifully and did often.
She loved song birds and had many.
The food she made cannot be duplicated, the advice she gave me was always honest.
It's been twelve years. I miss her everyday.

Anniversary

I got an incredible gift today, it's a book I read as a child called Baleful Beasts and Eerie Creatures. I checked it out from my school library as often as I could.
I tried finding it as an adult and it proved to be very difficult to locate but I never gave up.
There's several stories in it that scared me when I was a kid,and theyre still good:
The Yamadan, which is about a yeti type creature looking for a companion, Nighmare in a box, where an evil creature grows larger and larger whenever sunlight hits it and the Patchwork monkey, creepy monkey doll, weird babysitter, need I say more?

Well I guess it's time to call it a night, going to crawl into bed and read a few of the stories in this awesome book....and I think I'll leave on a nightlight just in case.

Doctors and dollhouses

Why is it when you go to the doctor,he takes such a long time with the other patients? Well I went today and I spent more time waiting for him than I did actually speaking with him...but it's okay because I got my asthma prescriptions filled AND I got to look through one of my craft books without interruption!
It's a neat-o how-to book with lots of ideas and inspirational photos,
called Mixed Media Dollhouses,by Tally Oliveau and Julie Molina.
Oh I am so going to make one!

softies

Here are a few softies I made last month,I like hand sewing them because they get a a very distinct look to them, they're perfectly imperfect :)
