Take a word Challenge this week is
'Childhood'
I didn't have many friends when I was growing up..
My afternoons consisted of coming home from elementary school,
and immediately going outside
& playing in a tent made of old sheets.
My companions were our cat Lucy and a glow-in-the-dark
skeleton made of paper.
(my mom
(my mom
had bought it for me at the pharmacy
and to me, it was the most incredible thing ever!)
Reading,
talking to fairies,
pretending it was Halloween,
bobbing for apples
drawing....
it all happened
in my tent, amongst my mother's garden.
I created a doodle
then used
elements from Deviant Scrap
over it.
I also wanted to let you know that
Random Number Generator chose #6.
JoAnne from Vintage Dragonfly
Congratulations!
you won the Haunted Humpday monster:)
So lucky... A skeleton that glows in the dark, what a dream! I bet the faeries loved it, too ;-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little drawing my friend and it's nice to learn more about you. You've always had a wonderful imagination! Hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story, Marfi. I love your little sketch. My childhood was crazy...Catholic School girl by day, Jewish kids when I got home. I grew up in a predominately Jewish neighborhood, so I had lots of kids to play with, except on Fridays when they had the Sabbath, then I was pretty much on my own. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and drats, didn't win that little stuffie...well, better luck next time.
xxoo,
Georgina

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely telling of your childhood memory. Great place to stir you imagination. I love the doodle and the embellishments. No wonder you have such a deep, deep love of all things spooky ooky.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to sweet JoAnne! I didn't have many friends as a child either. I was very introverted and preferred to be by myself or with my sister, who is still my BFF. ;-) Your enchanting imagination has not changed in the least. I love your precious image.
ReplyDeleteI will be back tomorrow to read your haunting post. It's late and I need to get up at 4:30 in the morning for work. All my love to you sweetie, Mina
