“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

First Haunted Humpday of September

Welcome to
Wow! It's September already!!!
I look forward to this time of the year all year!
We have such hot weather,
it's Summer from May until November.
but once fourth of July is over
we begin decorating for Halloween
it gives us a chance to really get into the season, and the decorations.
When do you start?

As usual I create a myriad of different crafts with Helena.
Here's a few of mine...

This is an old cigar box

& this is a little wooden shadow box turned around.

and two itty bitty Dia de los muertos Frida shrines
I have more, I'll show them as the weeks go on.

Have you seen the latest poptarts?
We bought some last night and they were SO good!

we also made popcorn and watched

I don't know about it being as great as
 American Werewolf in london
but it has it's moments.

Speaking of movies
Are you ready for IT ?
I read it so long ago I've started rereading the novel to refresh my memory..
now I'm constantly on edge and having nightmares...
I love Stephen King!
There is a funny article here about the movie.
I've never really been afraid of clowns,
But if one popped it's head out of the sink, I'd probably change my mind haha

When we are getting ready for Stephen King's birthday
we make a lot of creatures and characters from his books (and films)

Last year we made closets for the boogyman, a Pet Sematary cake
and bugs from The Mist...
This year we have a new guest stopping by..
His suit isn't completely finished but it will be by the 21st

I used a stuffed doll from the 99cents store to create him!
Isn't he cute?
Cute as he may be, I can honestly say he will not be anywhere near me
when I go to sleep tonight. (hopefully)

I think one of the reasons
IT
creeps me out so much
is because it's about your own personal boogyman.
What would you see in the darkest corner of the closet?
What scares you the most?

Well it's time to wrap up this haunted humpday and get ready for bed.
Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to link your HH if you have one to share.

  2. Yay! Haunted Humpday! No! No clowns! They freak me out. I watched the original IT and enjoyed it until the end. I couldn't get past the ending and every since I've had a massive fear of clowns. Tim Curry is just that good! :-)

  7. Gah, the clowns!!! The one you made is super creepy :) I'm so excited for pumpkins I can barely stand it. Been seeing a lot of skeleton bones windchime/mobiles on Pinterest lately---gonna make one of those for the porch this year.

  9. Lovely to see you back Marfi. Liking the new crafty side to Haunted Humpdays, I'll see if I can get something made in order to join in this week. I have a phobia about clowns so not planning on going anywhere near the 'It' film.

  10. YAY for Haunted Humpday! I am terrified of clowns and have been since seeing killer clowns from outter space as a child. *shudders* Your IT doll is creepy, awesome job! I also really like all the things you've made so far.
I don't know how much I will be able to participate this year. Amanda and I are getting married on October 13th, so we've been a bit busy working on that. And we are helping a friend with her Halloween Party. She wants to set up her Kettle Corn stand in her driveway and make it on Halloween Night for the neighborhood trick or treaters!

  11. It's wonderful to see you're doing Haunted Humpdays again! I always look forward the spooky craft projects you and Helena dream up! Love the Frida Shrines, the boxes and OMG . . . that clown!
I haven't gotten up the nerve to go to movie yet, maybe I'll wait for the DVD so I can scream in the privacy of my own home!
    See you tomorrow. Cheers, Sarah
