“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

Merry Monday..Before December

Hi!
How was your Thanksgiving?
We had a great time..
Lot's of cooking, lot's of eating..
We ate fairly early, I usually have the Turkey ready to eat by 2 or 3 pm
Afterwards we went to Michael's craft store,
it's open on Thanksgiving!
We don't go for the early bird sales or anything like that..
I like to go and walk around, get out of the warm kitchen
maybe get inspired..
There usually aren't too many people there either, which is nice.
On Friday afternoon
we went to a thrift store nearby.
They had a black Friday special 25% off your total purchase!
After that we stopped at a book store which sells new and used books.
I found this book, which I used to have.
It was only 2 dollars!

That night we went to the movies and watched

All in all we managed to avoid large crowds of people.

On Saturday I made enchiladas with the leftover turkey.
I don't roll them up, I layer them.
Corn tortillas, sauce covered turkey, cheese
over and over, like a lasagna.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350 and it's ready.
Notice I don't have many photos of the food, haha!

Sunday was a lazy day..
We baked chocolate chip cookies, made hot cocoa and went for a drive..
the evening was cool and I try and take advantage of that as much as possible.

I did not get much crafting done this week.
There are a few things that I started...
And there were two commissioned  paintings I had to finish up and send off..
other than that, cooking and spending time with these amazing girls was the focus of the week.

What did you do this week?
Are you ready for the Christmas frenzy?:
........................................................................

Here's my list of three things I'm grateful for.
1.my girls.
2. cooler weather
3.being rid of unpleasant, negative people and situations.

I'll be back soon with some crafts and goodies we bought this weekend:)
Ooh!our next Merry Monday will be in December!!

  1. Just got back from setting up a couple dozen trees for a festival of trees for the holiday. I got a new one, but haven't done my own yet.Maybe some of those cookies and cocoa are a needed item.

  2. Happy Merry Monday, Marfi! It sounds like y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I went to Michaels, too....I had to buy some watercolor pencils for Shelley for an art project at school.
Turkey enchiladas sounds delish! I hope you have a great week. It is cold here....the weather has definitely turned!

  3. It sounds like you had a great holiday and weekend, it was in the 60's here so it must have been really hot in AZ! The Day of the Dead Crafts book is a great find. What did you think of this version of IT?
The Black Friday craziness doesn't appeal to me. We took advantage of the unusually warm weather and put up the Christmas lights plus I finally got a post done for Magic Monday! Now I'm trying to stay away from those two pies left over from Thanksgiving.

  4. I loved hearing what you did over the Thanksgiving week-end. We don't get out over those days, but a walk after the meal is always a good plan :) I'm liking your turkey enchilada idea, and those chocolate chip cookies look tasty.

I'm definitely trying to un-frenzy Christmas. Peace and calm, that's my goal.

  5. Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. And it sounds like you and your girls spent some much needed time together, too.

I can't go to Michael's or JoAnn's and not spend money. That is why I stay out of those places unless I plan to buy something. I thought your craft book was great and I look forward to seeing what you make out of it. And I look forward to seeing what crafts and goodies you bought over the weekend.

I want one of those cookies. They look absolutely perfectly cooked and beautifully made. That's an art in itself.

Your enchiladas sounded good, but I want the really unhealthy flour ones for my meal (grin).

Have a super week and see you in December, dear.

  6. We have our Thanksgiving dinner around 2 PM, also. Gives me the rest of the day off :-D Did you like the movie, IT? I read the book when it first came out and that book scared the willies out of me.I also loved Tim Curry as Pennywise in the original movie. The chocolate chip cooks are making me drool. Have a great week!
