“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
― Roald Dahl

August Finally!

Hello again!
I'm so happy to be back here.
First of all I want to say thank you to everyone that left me such sweet comments and emails.
I truly appreciate it๐Ÿ’—
This recovery has been a bit harder than the others..
it's taken longer and it's been more painful, but I'm feeling better now.
I have had a chance to finish some art I started a while back ...

Garden Witch

and even make some new stuff..

Party Fairy

Can you believe it's August??
I saw this on Pinterest
the other day and it made me so happy:

I look forward to the end of Summer..here in Phoenix the high temps are SO high!
Plus, my favorite time of the year is just around the corner!
Many stores have stocked their Halloween decorations already and I am
very excited to get out there and take a look.
(haven't been out much at all.)
I received some spooky get well gifts from the girls though..

Skele-pumpkin-spider (At Home store)

 Vintage Spookies (99cents store)

Light up Haunted House (Tuesday Morning)

 color changing Jack-o-Lantern (99cents store)

Aren't they cute?? Can you tell we have our decorations started? lol

Anyhow, I'm grateful to be on my way to a happier, healthier life.
and I'm very grateful to be back here.
I'll be by to visit you all this weekend!!
thanks again๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

March is here!

Happy March!
It's already here and I cannot believe how fast it has arrived.
.............................................
This is Helena's birthday month, she's going to be eleven on the 22nd!
I'm not sure what theme she may want, but I do know she wants a sewing machine:)

So we are pretty much finished unpacking and now I get to have fun organizing
and putting things exactly where I want them.
To be honest, I'm about 90% done with that too.
I love being here!
I can look out of the window when I do the dishes..
(peeves likes it too)

I can go outside and look at the sky..

I can do laundry whenever I feel like!!

There's freedom and I'm so very, very grateful for everything.

I wasn't sure when I would be able to create because it takes a bit for my muse to start cranking out ideas.
I'm a creature of habit and when I'm in a different place
my creativity sometimes feels a little up in the air and unsettled.
Well, we've been here a month and I've made a few things..

This was hideous!
It had a beige background, grayish stems and bright orange tops!
It was also a quarter at goodwill, so it was worth buying..
I wish I'd taken a before pic:

This is a paper plate!
I had a ripped dust jacket on an old book of fairy tales that I couldn't part with.
after cutting out the image I glued it to the copper plate and used a star shaped punch on glitter paper.

This is a birthday gift for a friend. Black Panther is his favorite at the moment..

Finally, I repainted this cabinet..
It was pale aqua and it used to be in our dining area, full of plates and utensils,
But now it's MINE (lol)
It's in the bedroom and I have filled it with glitter and other magical things:)
I adore it!

Thank you so much for stopping by.

See you soon!

February!!!

Hi!
Sorry I've been away..January flew by.
Guess what? I moved!!!
I spent the whole month packing and moving my gigantic load of treasures, art supplies and clothes.
Gotta tell you, we have a lot of stuff.
Helena has no less than a gazillion dolls๐Ÿ˜€

I was in an apartment, now I'm in a house and I love it!
There's room for us to move around and! we have a yard!!!
Something I have always wanted in my home is a tree.
It's never been possible because we have cats and
I'm afraid they will nibble on it
and either become ill, or ruin/kill the the tree.
There wasn't any room before either...
I recently received this gorgeous 6' Ficus and it fits perfectly in the living room.
Isn't it pretty?!
Since it's artificial I don't have to worry about the cats eating it and it's never going to wilt.
It arrived in a long box and it only took a few minutes to fluff out and arrange the leaves & branches.
I took several photos to show the colors with the flash and without.
I think the variegated leaves look very realistic.
Do you have artificial plants in your house?

This site has many different varieties of artificial plants and flowers to choose from.
I think a hanging basket of azaleas by the front door would be nice..

Anyhow, I have missed visiting everyone and really hope you are all doing great.
I'm still unpacking but it's getting there.
Can't wait to get back to crafting..I'll be by to visit soon.

Merry Monday, Birthdays and Strays

Welcome back to Merry Monday.
How was your weekend?
I had a great one..
On Friday we went to A Christmas light display in Mesa, which is about 20 minutes away from us.
It's gorgeous! and it was cold..cold enough for us to need cups of hot cocoa to keep warm.

Have you ever made cake batter cookies?
I made some on Saturday, before we decorated our stockings.
It's so simple!
You need a box of cake mix
1/2 cup of oil
2 eggs
mix everything together
drop by tablespoon into a bowl of powdered sugar
roll into balls then set on a baking sheet
10-14 minutes at 350 and you get soft amazing cookies!
and there's an abundance of flavors to choose from.
I made chocolate fudge..

And Grinch hearts..(it's just vanilla flavored with green food color)

So, it was very cold ..39 degrees is heavy coat weather here in Tempe..
our summer highs are sometimes 120 degrees, so we are chilly when it goes anywhere under 50.
Well, I took out the trash and found a cat trying to get into the laundry room.
I had to bring it in..
I'd already noticed it wandering around earlier in the day.
My niece posted the cat onto some websites .
We also made 'found' posters and set them around.
While we were taping them up we read a note on the mailboxes
stating that someone else had found this cat a few days ago but
didn't want to keep it for long because it was fighting with their cats.
This person just opened their door and let it out..
knowing the temperature was going to dip very low this week!
What's worse is that I think it belonged to a family that moved recently..
So she (I'm pretty sure it's a she) was left here to fend for herself!!
No one has claimed her ๐Ÿ˜ž

We have not decided on a name yet..LOL
Isn't she adorable!

As you may know, from last week's post..
Yesterday was my birthday.

 It was the best!
I always start my birthday watching Stephen King movies..and Hellboy.
Then after that, birthday doughnuts.
We made dinner here at home..
Then we drove to a beautiful place called Tempe Town Lake,
the breeze coming off the water was absolutely delicious!
afterwards, we stopped at a drive thru coffee shop called Dutch Bros,
The drink is free when it's your birthday

I told everyone that I didn't need anything this year..But they got me gifts anyway...
Back in July I honestly thought I wasn't going to be around to celebrate this birthday.
I had large masses in my abdomen which turned out to be cysts..massive cysts on my ovaries.
I was pretty much shut out of my regular ob/gyn because
she was unhappy with my tumor markers and potassium levels..
so she sent me to a oncologist.
It was a frightening and painful time for all of us.
But, here we are...
celebrating another birthday and I am more grateful than I can express.

(Rigby photo-bomb)

I really enjoy watching 'Stranger Things'
so everyone knew exactly what to get me:)

And something King-ish of course

I also received gift cards and books
Everyone spoiled me!

Oh! this was in the fridge:)

We ended the evening by watching

I really had an amazing time, everything was just perfect.

Our crafts this week were all very small..
A wand I made by adding extra garland to a star pick:

A tart tin ornament

& my favorite..salt dough ornaments..
We actually  painted and glittered a bunch,
but I thought these two would be enough to show,
The candy cane is the one we left at the lake..it has an 'believe in your dreams'
sticker on the back, plus we added a silver ribbon to hang it.

Thank you for visiting, I really appreciate you.
I hope you have a magical week and remember..
