“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

This & That

I sincerely apologize to those of you that I've not visited lately...
things are a little hectic around here...
It's been so cold!
right now as I write this, it's 34 degrees..
the rain has been off and on and it really feels like December.
.................................................................

My dad continues to improve
but if you've ever been in this situation
you know that once they become ill, their baseline
gets lower and lower...
he has an appetite, but it's nothing like it was,
he's always been a man of few words and he's become even quieter lately.
He's winding down...
but I'm so grateful for this time he's giving us.

 and guess what?
my birthday is coming up on the 10th

There's going to be a little giveaway for it too!
I'll put a birthday post up with more details.

I'm also adding a couple of goodies to my etsy shop soon:)

I'm trying to keep positive..
it would be so easy to crawl into bed and sleep for a few days!
Oh!we just found out one of our cats has asthma...
and lucky him, he gets to share
my emergency inhaler with me!!

The winner of the book and a blanket for last week
is Linda from moments in an eye.
I'd also like for everyone that commented on that post
to send me their address (if you haven't already)
you are all winners of a little surprise!

it's 3 am so I'm going to go to bed now..
have you started decorating yet?

I hope you all have a great weekend.

  1. I wish you a very happy birthday! Super cute new pieces you have.

And I'm sorry, its so hard to see our loved ones not what they used to be. Hugs to you and kitty....

  2. I was concerned but I also know you have a lot going on. Having been in the "worried about parents" position myself I appreciate that you have to prioritize. My folks are gone now but I think of them daily.
Stay warm. We have officially hit the below zero days. It is so easy to hibernate, except for having dogs that still need to get out several times a day. But I am spending too much time online entering contests too!

  3. Dear One, you are so busy. And stressed too. (Your dad) And you would like to crawl into bed and sleep for a few days.

Know what? that last line...? What your body is telling you...? That you do, do, do need more rest....? Please listen to it. Please listen to your body. There is always time to do so.

'Cause of we don't make a habit of listening to what our body is telling us, our body just might have to let-us-go-down-in-a-lump, just to get our attention........ And we don't want that, now do we? :-)))))))))))

When our body needs rest, there is always time to be had, for rest.

    Please...

    Please...

    Please...

    Gentle hugs,
    Tessa~

  4. Your tree really is colorful and beautiful. I'm very sorry about your Dad's health, too. It's hard to see our loved ones get older and in bad health. I'll keep him in my prayers. And I hope you plan a special day and have a Happy Birthday sweet friend. You are so precious to us all! Sweet hugs, Diane

  11. Oh honey, you have so much on you right now. I know how hard it is to watch your father as he is, and I want you to know my heart is with you. You are never alone. My little Buster has asthma too and he takes a daily treatment. It has improved him so much, you would never know he has it to see him run around the house like a maniac. lol

I want to wish you a birthday with all that you hold dear, filled with all the love that your own huge heart holds, and sprinkled with golden blessings. Warmest hugs sweetie, Mina
